The Cylinder Archive [www.cylinder.de] release for July 2013: The French Comic Opera supplied a great repertoire for the classical Edison recordings. This one pre-dates the Grand Opera Series from 1906, was recorded in 1904 and released as an Edison Gold Moulded cylinder. Altough some quite audible surface noise, the recording remains overall crisp and clear. The cylinder is self-announced by Cécile Merguillier herself.

A part of Richard Wagner's Tannhaeuser (often written 'Tannhauser' because of the wrong American spelling caused by ignoring umlauts).
